Millner Childcare Centre
Ray Laurence Constructions was engaged in early 2024 during the design development phase of this project, tasked with progressing the design from 50% to 100% completion. This scope included the installation and upgrade of new water and sewer infrastructure approved by PWC. Our team worked closely with architects and consultants to refine the design, ensuring constructability, functionality, and alignment with the client’s budget and scheduling requirements.
The construction of the childcare centre, designed to accommodate approximately 150 children, involved a range of specialised works. This included site preparation, earthworks, and installation of essential services such as electrical, plumbing, and stormwater drainage. The building structure incorporated reinforced concrete footings and structural steel framing, ensuring durability and compliance with local building codes.
Internally, the centre features multiple classrooms, staff facilities, a commercial-grade kitchen, and accessible amenities, all completed to a high standard of finish. The external works included secure fencing, shaded outdoor learning spaces, and compliant car parking facilities.
The project was delivered on time, two months ahead of schedule, and within budget due to efficient project management and strong collaboration with consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors. Advanced construction methodologies, regular progress reviews, and proactive risk management contributed to a smooth and efficient build.
Handover of the completed Millner Childcare Centre took place in November 2024, providing a modern, safe, and engaging learning environment for the local community.
