Ray Laurence and his team were tasked with a major renovation for the Darwin Orthodontic Centre. They commenced work with a limited time frame and despite some unforeseen structural challenges, which were dealt with promptly and professionally, they still had us operational by the scheduled completion date. The commitment and work ethic to complete the renovation was outstanding and reflected by all involved. We would like to acknowledge the excellent work by Charlie who was proactive and minimised the stress involved in the renovation, he was always very approachable and professional and ensured the project stayed on track.

The renovation is a testament to this great team of professional, skilled staff and sub-contractors and we are more than delighted with the state-of-the-art working environment, which is being appreciated both by staff and clients.

Council reviewed the need for a Darwin office and found there would be an on ongoing requirement to accommodate staff members outside of its remote communities. Following the purchase of an existing building, comprised of a warehouse and a tired and hap hazard office space, Ray Laurence Constructions were awarded the Tender to fully renovate the premises. The strict budget and short timeframes attached to the project allowed minimal tolerances, and required the services of a professional team to be successfully executed.

Renovation work can sometimes be problematic as one can never fully anticipate what lies below the external surface until work commences. Charlie Dickman and his team were proactive in working with Council to identify any issues during construction, and find time and cost effective solutions to rectify these. The work that Charlie did behind the scenes, in conjunction with the architect and engineers, minimised construction costs and contributed to the overall success of the project.

The Ray Laurence team commenced on site as scheduled, and despite having additional work added to the scope, were able to make up time to ensure that practical completion was reached on the scheduled date. Their hands on and transparent approach to construction is such that Council would certainly consider working with Ray Laurence in the future, and have no hesitation in recommending their services to others.

Ray Laurence was awarded the tender for the construction and fit out of The Foreshore Restaurant & Café. Charlie and his team of experienced tradesmen were extremely professional in the manner in which they completed all aspects of the build. The Ray Laurence team value quality of workmanship and it is on display with the very pleasing final product they have created at the foreshore. Furthermore, Charlie and Tanya were a pleasure to deal with and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

We first used RLC in 2004 with the addition of a large verandah and carport to our elevated home. Some 11 years later, we contracted RLC for a second time to complete a substantial extension and alteration to our home, which included a new downstairs master bedroom suite with WIR/ensuite, new downstairs entrance, enclosing existing stairwell to connect upstairs/downstairs and an additional living area upstairs. Charlie and Tanya were a pleasure to deal with and their team of tradesmen were on the job every day before 7am, carrying out their work professionally and courteously, while working around a family of five throughout the six month build. The job was completed to the highest standard before time and on budget, with any minor issues being rectified promptly. We are thrilled with the final product and would highly recommend Charlie, Tanya and the RLC team!

Ray Laurence were contracted to fit-out new offices including a kitchenette in a multi-story building within a very tight timeframe.

The work was completed within the timeframe and were of a high standard.  Staff were professional and friendly throughout the project.

Working with Charlie from Ray Laurence Constructions was the one part of renovating that wasn’t stressful. Ray Laurence Constructions converted our 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom concrete bunker of a home with burst pipes into a 3 bedroom, 1 study, 1.5 bathrooms home with a new kitchen, European laundry, open plan living and a huge outdoor entertaining area.

We originally found it hard to get prices from other builders, but Charlie met with us, gave us a ballpark figure and followed up with a quote just 2 weeks after seeing the property. With three teenage daughters we needed to expand our home to cope with the increased demands and we also wanted to give our home a fresh, new look.

Charlie’s team constructed a new bedroom and ensuite for Mum and Dad, replaced out tired brick roof with modern zincalume, rendered the out-dated exterior brick walls and finished the job with a fresh new paint job.

We contracted, Ray Laurence Constructions Pty Ltd to complete a small, but difficult external tile job located at our private residence in Northlakes.

My wife and I had difficulty finding a company or individual whom we felt comfortable, to complete the task. We were confronted with quotes and a variety of suggested methods to proceed the job from different contractors, and as people not in the industry found it very uncomfortable and uncertain due to the different quoted figures presented.

Ray Laurence Constructions was contracted to construct a small extension to our premises at Woodroffe.

From the first consultation with Charlie and through the whole construction process was conducted professionally, and we were at no time rushed into any decisions. Early 2009, Bees Creek School was successful in our funding applications for a much needed staffroom extension & caretaker’s facilities block. We also decided to cover our pergolas to create some outside learning areas for our classrooms. In all aspects of this project, Charlie & his team at Ray Laurence Constructions delivered us high quality work, with minimal disruption to the operation of the school and in a very professional and timely manner.

After years of thinking and planning we finally made the decision to replace our old and tired tin shed with a 65 m2 studio/garage/bathroom with a new driveway and double carport attached.

In 2008 my wife and I decided to extend our entertainment area at the back verandah. Once the architects and engineering was approved Charlie and his team had great continuity from start to finish, with all work being carried out in a tradesman like manner.
